What Will We See in London?

Our exact day-by-day itinerary is almost done! Here are some highlights:

  • The British Museum is among the most important repositories of cultural history in the world.  You can see the Rosetta Stone, elements of the Parthenon--more here than we can list.
  • The Science Museum holds over 300,000 artifacts documenting the development of the modern science and technology, which include the oldest surviving steam locomotive and the first functioning jet engine. Museum's Computing Gallery includes many items related to the history of computing, while its Telecommunications gallery includes an Enigma cipher machine used by German government and military for secret communications during World War II.
  • Bletchley Park, located near London, is a historic place where Word War II code breakers decrypted and interpreted messages from a large number of Nazi cipher systems. Today, Bletchley Park is a sprawling museum that hosts working recreations of the original machinery used for code breaking, including Enigma machines and Colossus, considered as the first digital computer.
